Dr Alistair Byrne, Director

Dr Alistair Byrne, CFA co-developed the ATRQ and is a co-founder of A2Risk. Alistair has held roles in investment management and consulting, and academic positions at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Strathclyde business schools. He is fellow of the Pensions Institute at Cass Business School and has been an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Professor David Blake, Scientific Advisor

Professor David Blake co-developed the company's core ATRQ tool. Among his roles, Dr Blake is Professor of Pension Economics at Cass Business School, City University London; Director of the Pensions Institute; and Chairman of Square Mile Consultants, a training and research consultancy. Professor Blake has an international reputation for research on pension issues and is the founder of the Pensions Institute, the UK's leading retirement research organisation.

Alistair Haig, Director

Alistair Haig, CFA is a director of A2Risk. He has over 20 years experience in quantitative investment research, investment analysis and investment risk including with Kames Capital, UBS and Baillie Gifford, and was a research fellow at the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Iain Horn, Business Consultant

Iain Horn has been a qualified actuary for over 35 years, and has held a number of senior management roles at AEGON, Alliance Trust, Barrie & Hibbert (Moodys Analytics) and most recently the FSA and FCA. Whilst Managing Director at Barrie & Hibbert’s sister company DecisionsDecisions, Iain commissioned Alistair and David to develop the initial version of the ATRQ. Iain now provides independent consultancy on business and regulatory matters to financial services companies most recently Lloyds Banking Group and now A2Risk.
